The FT-BH concept car weights in at less than 800 KG. It was presented to the outside world for the first time at the 2012 Auto-Salon Fair in Geneva

In its development Toyota concentrated on five key factors: weight reduction, aerodynamic optimisation, drive efficiency, thermal energy management and energy saving. In short, the priority in the development of this concept car was lightweight construction.

A smaller hybrid drivetrain, optimised energy management and aerodynamics all played their part in reducing the weight of the vehicle. RECARO, too, helped Toyota to achieve its goal of developing a full-blown hybrid vehicle weighing less than 800 kg. The seats have a purist design which complements the general design motif of elongated structures. The seats were developed by RECARO Japan working in partnership with Toyota.
